The Greenways 5 Levy Campaign has ended. The Greenways 5 Levy was approved by Bellingham voters with about 67% of the vote! Thank you for supporting this campaign and the Greenways Program. This website is being preserved to inform Bellingham about the origins of the levy and to help maintain a record of the campaign.

Vote YES for the Greenways 5 Levy this November. A YES vote for Proposition 2 continues a popular property tax measure, in place since 1990, to fund Greenways.

The Greenways 5 Levy Will

  • Develop public trails and parks to create an equitable Greenways system accessible to everyone
  • Complete linkages and build new connections to create a pedestrian and bicycle trail network throughout and between our neighborhoods
  • Secure funding to maintain and restore our parks, trails, and open spaces
  • Provide funds to increase our community’s climate resiliency
  • Ensure appropriate development and ecological restoration of acquired parks, open spaces, and wildlife corridors
  • Increase and maintain Bellingham’s urban tree canopy
  • Continue Bellingham’s 33-year Greenways legacy

Our continued investment in Greenways will be at a rate of $0.41 per $1,000 assessed valuation, down from the initial (2017) Greenways IV rate of $0.50. Greenways 5 will raise approximately $86 million over a period of ten years.
